Wednesday saw the launch of a new publication for the cartooning community. The New Cartoonist is edited by Pete Songi who has set it up not as a replacement for the fortnightly broadsheet The Cartoonist (which folded thirty years ago) but as a new forum for professionals and talented amateurs to showcase their work… And as a place where cartoon enthusiasts in general can get a fix.
TNC will be published every two months as an online flipbook on a subscription basis. As well as lots of cartoons Pete will bring us articles, interviews, profiles, event listings and (thanks to the digital medium) videos.
The launch issue is available now for £2.50 and would-be contributors can email editor@thecartoonist.co.uk
