Largo's facing his biggest threat to date, having been out-manouvered to such a degree that he and the W Group are in serious trouble. The W Group has been backed into a corner and it's Group Administrator appears to be deeply involved, while Largo himself finds himself in a Californian jail charged with the abduction and rape of Juliet, a minor. Things are not looking good.
Fortunately, despite getting off on the wrong foot with many W Group employees, Largo has had time to show his worth, so it isn't long before Penny is paying him a visit inside while a good lawyer is arguing his corner without, which results in, at least, release on bail.
Now Largo's in a position to rectify matters, and that starts with a genuine abduction of Juliet, but this time to free her from her persecutors. But that's only the beginning. Somehow Largo has to prove the innocence of Dwight Cochrane and expose the shadowy movements of Don Candido Panatella, including his particular brand of niche filmmaking, and all without falling foul to the bruisers in Panatella's pay.
Another nicely plotted story from Van Hamme fantastically illustrated by the skills of Francq. It works so well because it's an avenue rarely explored in comics, meaning the drama and surprises are all the more richer. Nicely done.
And if you liked that: Look out for volume 9
