You'd be given if you said you'd had your fill of vampire, werewolf and zombie related vehicles for entertainment. There have been rather a few over recent years and the promise of more to come. So for this reason alone there's every reason you wouldn't want to pick up yet another zombie-related book, which was what I was thinking before I realised Guy Davis was involved. Davis is the mastermind behind behind The Marquis and the visual talent behind the immensely enjoyable Hellboy spin-off BPRD, so anything he turns his hand to is worthy of a look in my opinion.
This is a rather tongue-in-cheek take on the burgeoning genre, all set in LA during 2064 where the dead have come back to the world of the living. What's odd is that they, for the most part, appear to be living alongside the living quite happily. The book follows a small band of inept zombie catchers who are trying to make some cheeky money disposing of the 'problem' visitors.
Not only is the artwork great, with some really lovely colour by Charlie Kirchoff, but it's funny too, spinning out comic situations from the traditional horror. Much credit to Jerry Frissen for pulling this off.
And if you liked that: Take a look at Guy Davis's The Marquis: The Inferno
